Choose at most one mapping with hardware-proven endpoints. Wide sweeps +90° through
0° to −90°. Effects runs from monochrome through 25/50/75% chroma to
normal, then rotates −45/−90/−135/−180°. Hue 0 is the exact identity
entry, so it keeps the compiled recipe shown in this preview. Use
fixed white balance for predictable neutrals.
Saturation and hue now use the camera's native, hardware-proven
YCbCr output stage; their matrices preserve exact neutral grey.
Warmth and look strength remain conservative white-preserving RGB
matrix controls. Saturation boost above the original is intentionally
unavailable.

In-camera Saturation endpoint
−4 becomes monochrome
Optional and hardware-proven in Standard live view and JPEG. Saturation −4 becomes
monochrome while −3 through +4 keep their exact stock pointers; the
paired DNG stays colored. This is a one-byte pointer change and does
not alter the preview. The camera rear display changes immediately.
Monotone Grain character
Shadow-selective envelope
Hardware-proven in Image Control → Monotone → Grain Effect .
Grain Off remains a complete bypass. Weak, Medium, and Strong use a
custom envelope that concentrates fine texture in shadows and lower
midtones while suppressing it in bright tones; Strong is the measured
endpoint. It also applies to Soft Monotone, Hard Monotone, and
Hi-Contrast B&W, which share Ricoh's Particle curves. Paired DNG RAW
remains normal. The desktop preview does not simulate stochastic grain,
and the tonal selection can be subtle on the rear display.
Negative Film Grain Effect
Expose Off / Weak / Medium / Strong
Hardware-confirmed in
Image Control → Negative Film → Grain Effect . This adds
only the existing stock Grain Effect row to Negative Film's three
capability lists; its native persistence, live refresh, and rendering
remain untouched. The camera showed a clear Negative Film grain response.
This is not simulated in the desktop preview. Paired DNG and video scope
were not measured in this confirmation.
Cross Processing Palette dial
−4 ↔ normal ↔ +4
Optional, profile-local, and hardware-proven in live view and JPEG.
In Cross Processing only, Saturation −4 cycles red→blue, green→red,
blue→green; 0 is exact identity; +4 cycles in the opposite direction,
with quarter-step blends between them. Standard and Vivid stay
untouched, and paired DNG files retain their original colors. This
exact feature also proves the private mapped-ROM extension area.
Experimental CCYC blue / cyan endpoint
Cross Saturation +4
Partial-positive experimental endpoint from receipt
20260717-033223-8d41e4. In Cross Processing,
Saturation +3 is the immediate baseline and
+4 enables the tested CCYC block-4 transform. The real-scene
sky moved about 6° toward cyan, but it also brightened by roughly 33
codes; grass and several non-blue chart sectors moved too. This is
therefore not a selective-sky filter . It is the exact tested
endpoint, has no invented strength slider, and is not simulated in the
desktop preview. It cannot be combined with the Cross Palette or Cross
Tone effect because their private layouts overlap.
Cross Processing RGB split tones
Install both looks
Hardware-proven in Cross rear live view and JPEG; paired DNG RAW stays
normal. Select Color Tone → Basic for blue shadows with
warm highlights, or Color Tone → Magenta for teal shadows
with rose highlights. Yellow remains an exact channel-neutral curve
control. 100% is byte-exact to the captured look; lower strengths are
bounded monotonic interpolation and require a new firmware build.

Optional, Cross-only, and hardware-proven in rear live view and JPEG.
Threshold makes a stark two-level image; Broad lift compresses toward
white; Shadow cut drops shadows and lower midtones to black; Solarize
reverses the main tone range; Highlight notch dips upper tones before
the brightest endpoint recovers. Paired DNG RAW remains normal. These
effects depend on scene statistics, so their exact cutoff moves with
the image and the desktop preview does not simulate them. Standard is
untouched. This layout cannot be combined with the Cross Palette dial
because both use private address 0x53003054; it can be combined with
the Cross Color dial.

Off keeps Ricoh's stock Cross Processing Hue behavior.
Select one hardware-proven, Cross-only nine-position matrix bank. These
are opponent-axis transforms, not single-hue selectors: mixed and
complementary colors can move too. The camera's
Hue 0 is always exact identity; −4 and +4 are the strongest opposite
endpoints. The preview-position slider only shows one camera setting—it
does not change the compiled bank. This can be combined with the Cross
Palette dial because Hue and Saturation use separate private arrays.
Use fixed white balance when comparing positions.
In-camera Contrast dial
Wide native range
Optional and hardware-proven. With the other native tone term
neutral, it widens the camera's Image Control Contrast menu from
generator levels
−8/−6/−4/−2/0/+2/+4/+6/+8 to
−12/−12/−8/−4/0/+4/+8/+12/+12. Contrast 0 stays exactly neutral;
±3 and ±4 intentionally share Ricoh's existing endpoints. This is
separate from the compiled Contrast slider below.
Full tonal curve
Enabled
Hardware-proven across the complete range. Positive Shadows,
Midtones, and Highlights brighten that region; positive Contrast
separates dark and bright tones. Every combination stays monotonic.
